I believe that clear, honest communication is essential to building relationships with both existing and prospective clients. This communication should convey your story, demonstrate value, and educate the reader in order to garner trust. Your content is your primary way to communicate with your audience, and I’m passionate about crafting a message that reflects the unique story you want to tell.

Background

I was initially a high school and middle school English teacher. After deciding to change career paths, I chose to pursue jobs that made use of my writing skills. This led me to the digital marketing world.

Prior to joining Webolutions, I spent 12 years as the Senior Writer at a digital marketing agency in Lakewood, CO. This role involved running a team of 9 writers and ensuring all of our content adhered to SEO-best practices. My previous agency experience has set me up well for success at Webolutions.

Since joining Webolutions, I have owned the creation of all client content, ensuring all content accurately conveys the client’s brand messaging and provides the detailed information necessary to establish our clients as thought leaders in their industry. I specialize in writing long form content – detailed pages necessary to rank well with the search engines as well as large, gated content pieces to use as lead magnets. I enjoy working closely with our clients, helping them to achieve their goals by creating the exceptional quality content they need to succeed in the modern digital marketing landscape.

Role

My responsibilities as a Content Strategist:

  • Write and edit content for new website projects
  • Create long-term content strategy for our clients
  • Write ongoing content to improve SEO results, maximize conversions and support our clients’ marketing goals
  • Work with our design team on the creation of visual assets such as infographics, charts, and tables that will make our content more engaging
  • Work closely with SEO and Account Management teams to ensure all content plans meet our clients’ needs and reflect SEO best practices
  • Perform on-page SEO for all monthly content as it gets published
  • Edit client-provided content to ensure proper grammar, organization, SEO conventions and brand messaging
  • Collaborate with other departments on creation of brand platforms

Andrew Martin's Other Passions

Ski bum poet.

I’m a musician/songwriter and play electric piano and organ in several local bands. Music fills the bulk of my free time. When I’m not gigging or rehearsing with one of my bands, you can often find me soaking up the amazing live music that comes through the Denver metro area.

During the winter, I head to the mountains for as much skiing as I can fit in. In the summer, I’ll take advantage of the outdoors by hiking, biking, camping and going on river trips.

  • I spent a good chunk of my senior year in college traveling the country seeing a band called Zero
  • I’ve played several large national music festivals, including Telluride Jazz Festival and Wakarusa
  • I’ve been to Burning Man 4 times and built an 18-foot purple Les Paul guitar art installation for my first trip to Black Rock City
  • I’ve lived in NY, Philadelphia, Vail, San Francisco, Boulder and Denver
  • I used to teach first graders how to play blackjack at an alternative school in Menlo Park, CA
  • I plan on writing a novel about my college summer job working as a cabana boy at the beach clubs on Long Island
  • I’m about 3 songs away from completing a full album of music about my time in the Vail Valley
  • Halloween is my favorite holiday
