In September, 2009, Webolutions and the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce launched a monthly Meetup group focused on helping businesses understand and effectively use social media in their marketing. Today, December 1, 2011, the group celebrates a milestone with the acquisition of its 1000th online member.
“This group is all about action, communication, involvement, leadership, and ROI,” said John Brackney, CEO of the Chamber. “The way this group has been created and executed is amazing. It is now one of the largest business groups in the world, which makes it extremely important.”
This dynamic, interactive group meets on the 3rd Friday of each month from 7:30am – 9:00am, with one exception: The November and December events are combined. The group’s next event is Friday, December 2, 2011. The topic for the December 2 event is Planning Your Social Media Marketing for 2012. In addition to free breakfast including treats and beverages from My Favorite Muffin and Peet’s Coffee SouthGlenn, guests enjoy peer networking and structured knowledge exchange. The weekly presentation is interactive and conversational and includes “Tips Groups,” in which attendees break out into smaller sessions to share tactical acumen. Each session provides opportunities to gain strategic perspective and resources that can be used immediately.
“Each event focuses on different Social Marketing techniques, tools and strategies to help businesses better understand and maximize the ROI of their Social Marketing programs,” said Webolutions CEO and group founder John Vachalek. “Whether you are new to Social Media Marketing or are a seasoned veteran, this group provides valuable insights into how to become more successful.”
The group maintains dialogue among members between meetings via Facebook and Twitter, and provides a full video chronology of each event thanks to Dale Honning Videography.
In the spirit of the season, group members have contributed “presents” for a giveaway drawing at the December 2 event. These include wine, framed prints, gift cards and more from Denver buisnesses including Frame de Art, Monkey Business Burritos, Dry Cleaning Station and the Fox & Hound as well as spectacular martial arts activities from ATA Centennial Family Martial Arts.
There is no cost to attend any of the group’s events and the entire business community is welcome. For more information about Social Marketing for Business – Join the Conversation, please contact Webolutions or the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce.
