About the w3 Awards
The w3 Awards celebrate digital excellence by honoring outstanding websites, marketing, video, mobile sites and apps, social and podcasts created by some of the best marketing professionals around the world. The w3 is the first major web competition that levels the playing field for smaller agencies, giving small firms an equal chance to win alongside large international agencies and Fortune 500 companies.
The w3 is sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from acclaimed media, interactive, advertising and marketing firms. Winning a w3 Award represents a truly prestigious honor that distinguishes your work as some of the best of the Web.
Entries are judged based on a standard of excellence established by the AIVA based on the category entered. The judges evaluate each entry on a 10 point scale with three categories of winners:
- Best in Show – bestowed on the top 1% of all work entered
- Gold Winners – less than 10% of all entries receive this honor
- Silver Winners – bestowed on a select number of additional outstanding entries
About the Davey Awards
The annual International Davey Awards honor the achievements of the “Creative Davids” who derive their strength from big ideas rather than big budgets. This metaphor refers to the biblical story of David and Goliath, where the diminutive David defeated the giant Goliath with a big idea and a little rock.
The Davey Awards represent the largest and most prestigious awards competition exclusively for the smaller creative agencies. The goal of the Davey Awards is to allow the excellent work produced by smaller agencies to receive the recognition they deserve.
As with the w3 Awards, Davey Award winners are selected by the AIVA. Entries are scored on a 10 point scale with three categories of winners:
- Gold Winners – entries receiving a score of 9.0 or above
- Silver Winners – entries receiving a score of 7.0 to 8.9
- Best in Show – a select pool of 11 Gold Winners (one for each medium), determined based on their scoring and other elements of merit
